They were pinned down, without a way to escape. the Doctor glanced at Rose, who hid with him behind a tree. He had no idea where Donna and Lee were hiding. He could only imagine that they were in a similar situation.
A frozen projectile whizzed past him.
He sighed, scooping up some of the wet snow at his feet. At least it packs well. He made eye contact with his wife. On three, he told her telepathically. One, two…three!
They jumped out from their cover, lobbing snowballs at the Doctor’s daughter.
Jenny cackled as her snowballs splattered against them. They were followed by more, hurled by Donna and Lee.
“Traitors,” the Doctor mumbled as he and Rose ducked for cover again. Apparently Jenny had used her tactical skills to win them over to her side.
This is what I get for starting a snowball battle with a person who was born ready to fight, he thought.
Jenny laughed again. The Doctor couldn’t help but grin at her enthusiasm.
He heard Rose’s thought in his mind: Jenny’s first ever snowball fight is a roaring success! Then they jumped out from their cover. Their laughter echoed around the snowy canyons.

It’s time for all the fluffy holiday fics!! Time for the Doctor and Rose to kiss under the mistletoe in all manner of different circumstances! It’s better than Hallmark movies, I tell ya….
Friends & Followers – Anchorage was hit by a 7.0 earthquake at about 8:30am the morning of November 30th. I live in Fairbanks about 350 miles north of Anchorage but we also felt it. The earthquake rumbled on for a good minute or more but there was very little damage where I’m at. However; in Anchorage they have damaged roads, power outages, cellular outages, and there was even a tsunami watch.
If you have not heard from your Alaskan friends or family please do not panic, with power and cellular service out they may not be able to contact folks, but it’s ok, we’ve been through this before. Alaskans are used to disaster and are generally prepared for anything, even those who live in “Los Anchorage” 😉
Thank you to all of those checking in on me, we are fine, I really appreciate all the concern. However; I have already seen FB looking for donations so I urge you not to contribute any money to this event until the damage has been fully assessed or you personally know someone who is financially devastated by this. We are Alaskans, we deal with this on a regular basis, so we build, live, and survive accordingly. To us, this is just another day not a disaster.
We build most of our structures (including the Pipeline) to withstand a 7.0 earthquake. The main street in the below photo on the right is 5th Ave… which is also the main fault line that ruptured during the massive 9.2 earthquake in 1964. Anchorage had damage but it was not massive like the news stations would have you believe. No loss of life just a lot of broken dishes, groceries, and roads.

The biggest issue with the earthquake is with the roads and bridges. Most of the photos here include major highways like the Glenn Highway or the Seward Highway which are the only highways in and out of the metropolis of Anchorage. Oddly enough the main road going to the Anchorage International airport has also had the overpass collapse. Looks like there will be no going in and out of Anchorage for a few days. But I’m certain everyone will be expected to be at work tomorrow for those that work weekends.
Rose watched the Doctor spin around the console, taking them into flight. He looked just as excited about this trip as he had been to take her to Autumnalis a few months ago.
A bubble of warmth expanded in her chest when she remembered that particular trip. It certainly hadn’t gone the way the Doctor had planned, with them getting caught in the rain and taking shelter in an empty house, but in the end, that deviation from his plan had brought them together.
“What are you thinking?” the Doctor asked.
Rose blinked and realised they’d landed and the Doctor was waiting for her by the door. She hopped off the jump seat and jogged down the ramp, then reached up and straightened the lapel on his coat.
“All the fun that can be had when things don’t go according to plan,” she answered, letting a seductive purr creep into her voice.
The Doctor’s eyes darkened, and he didn’t fight when she stretched up for a kiss. But when Rose tried to move closer, he pulled back and tapped her on the nose.
“I certainly have good memories of straying from my plans,” he agreed. “But can we at least see the planet before we decide to stay in?”

The flat was a shambles with windows boarded and walls torn up. But somehow, Jackie had managed to pull together Christmas dinner. They didn’t need decorations to make the room festive. Rose’s answering smile as he entered room was as bright as any string of fairy lights. He felt the knot of anxiety in his chest relax.
He didn’t think it could get any better, until Rose patted the chair next to hers.
In over nine hundred years, the Doctor had eaten sumptuous meals in palaces with kings and queens and emperors. He’s dined in the finest places across the universe. But on this Christmas, his best friend (who is truly so much more than that) is sharing her family with him. He remembers thinking he’d never have this kind of life- (a feast with family, a catching a taxi at two am kind of life), and he allows himself the illusion. He hoped it would be a very long time before reality set back in.
